In 2022, the Taiwanese government announced its net-zero carbon emission plan, setting a goal for hydrogen power generation to account for 9% to 12% of total power generation. That same year, the global energy market faced significant disruptions due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which caused a spike in natural gas and traditional energy costs, prompting nations to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen energy applications.

YC Synergy is the only domestic fuel cell system manufacturer in Taiwan with engineering experience in vehicular, maritime, and stationary power applications. The company has successfully developed fuel cell systems for commercial vehicles, fixed fuel cell power stations for chemical plants, and fuel cell solutions for passenger ferries. YC Synergy’s team offers comprehensive hydrogen integration services, from site evaluation, planning, and system installation to long-term operational support.

In 2022, YC Synergy completed the Bureau of Energy’s “Grid-Scale Hydrogen Energy Storage” technology development project. Through practical field construction, the company achieved technical integration of hydrogen production via electrolysis, hydrogen storage, grid-connected power generation, and the IEC 61850 grid communication system. This year, YC Synergy launched industrial-grade hydrogen energy storage solutions to assist large industrial users in addressing uneven power usage and soaring costs.

YC Synergy’s fifth-generation 50kW high-power fuel cell system has already passed international vehicle-grade safety certifications and achieved sales records for installation in buses and refrigerated trucks of major international manufacturers. Through system upgrades and platform-based designs, YC Synergy has increased power output to over 65kW and launched 200kW+ grid-connected system solutions, providing standardized power station options for MW-level clients. These systems, equipped with hydrogen stacks from international manufacturers, have proven lifespans exceeding 10,000 hours. Additionally, a new generation of 15kW modular systems has been introduced for small- and medium-sized users, serving as backup power solutions.

In 2023, YC Synergy became an integration and agency partner for Germany’s leading hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturer, Enapter. This partnership accelerates the deployment of green hydrogen while combining YC Synergy’s fuel cell technology to help businesses save energy and achieve RE100 and ESG goals.
