Industrial By-Product Hydrogen Medium-Sized Fuel Cell Power Plant

Introduction

The First Commercial 50 kW-Class Fuel Cell Power Plant System Commences Operation, Becoming Taiwan’s Largest Commercially Operated Fuel Cell Power System.

This project is in collaboration with a well-known domestic semiconductor-grade polysilicon (Polysilicon) company, utilizing hydrogen by-products from their production processes to establish a fuel cell power plant with a capacity of over 2 MW. The power plant features YC Synergy’s independently developed Rick-I series compact 50 kW fuel cell modules, designed for combined heat and power (CHP) applications. It provides both process power and preheating energy, reducing reliance on the power grid and saving fuel costs associated with traditional coal or natural gas boilers. The expected lifespan exceeds 15,000 hours, and the overall energy costs are anticipated to approach the average industrial electricity price. The technology is capable of overcoming the challenges posed by the harsh, high-dust environments of coastal chemical plants, achieving a high-efficiency and stable power generation capacity.
