July 29-30: Energy Saving! Carbon Reduction! Green Living! - A Conversation Between Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Daan Forest Park MRT Station
The event, hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and co-organized by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, featured speeches by notable officials, including Energy Bureau Section Chief Su Jinsheng, Section Head Chen Shinan, the General Manager of the Metro Corporation, and the Director of the Metro Bureau. Approximately 100 participants from domestic new energy sectors, including government, industry, academia, and research, were invited to attend.
July 29 Afternoon
The exhibition was opened to the general public for visits.
July 30 Morning and Afternoon
Two public energy education activities were held, with about 140 participants attending on-site classes and guided tours.
Key Points from the July 29 Interview with YC Synergy by the Event Host:
YC Synergy’s product features are characterized by the “Three Highs”: high kinetic output, high volumetric energy density, and high gravimetric energy density. The system weighs approximately 130 kilograms with a net output of 15 kW.
As highlighted during the interview, the “Star of Hope”, a vessel operating in Sun Moon Lake, exemplifies YC Synergy’s “3031” characteristics:
• 30: Integration of three energy sources—solar power, lithium batteries, and hydrogen fuel cells.
• 31: It is the first domestically certified fuel cell vessel to pass safety and performance tests by the Ministry of Transportation. Upon its launch, it became Asia’s first fuel cell yacht certified under maritime law.
YC Synergy’s achievements also extend beyond Taiwan. The company received the Gold Award at the Guangzhou New Energy Vehicle Expo this year, earning recognition for its product safety and stability, which have been widely praised.
Market Differentiation and Future Directions:
Most fuel cell companies focus on small-kilowatt systems for backup power and distributed energy supplies. YC Synergy, however, targets the “Three Bigs”: large buses, large trucks, and large ships, setting itself apart in the market.
This approach demonstrates that fuel cell technology is mature enough to be applied to high-power vehicles and is ready for commercial operations. Compared to lithium batteries of equivalent energy output, YC Synergy’s previous-generation product already boasts significantly reduced weight and size—up to half or less.
Looking forward, YC Synergy is committed to innovation, striving for fuel cell systems that are lighter, thinner, shorter, smaller, more integrated, and easier for customers to install. The goal is to minimize product development time for clients.
In September, the company plans to launch a new generation of fuel cell systems at more affordable prices, further aligning with government policies to promote energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and green energy usage. This initiative aims to support the “Three Bigs”—large buses, large trucks, and large ships—and contribute to a sustainable energy future.
