  Taiwan's first 50 KW fuel cell power station started into commercial operation

  Taiwan's first 50 KW fuel cell power station, becoming Taiwan's largest fuel cell power generation system, started into commercial operation. 

  YC Synergy and a well-known domestic polysilicon maker of semiconductor industry jointly planed a fuel cell power station of more than 2MW by adopting Rick-I series compact four cell modules of 15kW as the first phase. Rick-I series is a fuel cell with co-generation design independently developed by YC Synergy, and could provide power and preheating energy, reduce dependence on the grid, and save fuel costs for traditional coal or natural gas boilers.

  The life expectancy will exceed 15,000 hours, and the expected total cost would approximate to the average industrial electricity price. This case also shows that the technology is matured enough to be used in the coastal area with harsh and high dust environment ,and meets the strict regulation of chemical plant, providing efficient and stable power.

  Green Boat “ Star of Hope”

  Star of Hope uses a catamaran design, or twin hulls, to reduce water resistance and expand the deck space for accommodating up to 90 passengers, which is the largest fuel cell passenger ferry in Asia. The power train includes 2 sets of 40KW motors operating simultaneously at over 300 Volt power, and with YCS’s transmission design, the ferry can reach over 10 knots. At 6 knots cruising speed, the running time can last for over 8 hours. Furthermore, this boat is also equipped with solar panel as an auxiliary power for the light-current system.

  YCS’ powertrain has dual power source, fuel cell and Li battery. The PEM Fuel Cell that YCS uses in the powertrain solution has several advantages: fast start-up, low reaction temperature (<80 degree C), long life, and excellent for repetitive start-stop operation. Integrated with YCS’ fast power demand responding system, the fuel cell can provide needed power in time. With LiFe battery, the solution can provide high power output and long cruising range.

  Green Boat "Mu Yang"

  "Mu Yang" is equipped with Advance electric power-train solution, the integration of fuel cell and battery not only provide the propulsion power but also the energy for onboard appliance. This integrated power system largely increases the cruising range of the electric boat and meanwhile altered the sailors’ impression toward the electric boats. At the same time, Fuel cell system provide zero emission power which reduces the annoying noise and diesel odor, therefore improved the riding comfort and increase the pleasure during the journey.
